Ethel May Carlson

Services for Ethel May Carlson, 76, Baldwin, will be at 3 p.m. Monday at Ives Chapel United Methodist Church in Baldwin. Inurnment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery in Baldwin.Mrs. Carlson died Thursday, Oct. 13, 2005, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City, Mo.She was born Jan. 29, 1929, in Baldwin, the daughter of Paul and Helen Talley Sutton. She graduated from Baldwin High School.Mrs. Carlson worked as a bookkeeper at Carlson Standard Service Station and as a cook for the Zeta Tau Alpha house. She was also a day care provider. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, La Femme 8/40 and Ives Chapel United Methodist Church.She married Archer Bell Carlson on Nov. 6, 1949. He survives, of the home.Other survivors include two sons, Roger Carlson, Paxico, and David Carlson, Trumansburg, N.Y.; two daughters, Linda South, Leawood, and Cathy Henley, Winfield; a brother, Richard Sutton, Minneapolis; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Monday at the church. The family suggests memorials to American Legion Auxiliary Unit 228, sent in care of Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home, P.O. Box 64, Baldwin 66006.
