A memorial Mass for Jose Gilberto Gonzalez, 50, Lawrence, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Lawrence. Cremation is planned.Mr. Gonzalez died Friday, Oct. 7, 2005, in the fire at Boardwalk Apartments in Lawrence.He was born Feb. 17, 1955, in Edinburg, Texas, the son of Ramon and Clara Pena Gonzalez. He graduated from St. Anthony's High School in 1973 and attended Howard University in Texas. He moved to Lawrence three years ago.Mr. Gonzalez worked at Quality Electric as an electrician.Survivors include two sisters, Maria Gonzalez, Lawrence, and Alma Molina, College Station, Texas; and five brothers, Ricardo, Winnie, Texas, Jesus, Houston, Ramon, Edinburg, Texas, Miguel, Kahalui, Hawaii, and Francisco, Emporia.The family suggests memorials to the American Red Cross, sent in care of Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home.Online condolences may be sent to <a href="http://www.rumsey-yost.com">www.rumsey-yost.com</a>.
