Harriett Ann Emerson Brooks 1918 - 2005 Wellington
Internment for Harriett Ann Emerson Brooks, 87, of Forsyth, Mo., formerly of Lawrence, will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Sumner Gardens in Wellington. Mrs. Brooks died Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2005, in Forsyth, Mo.She was born Feb. 26, 1918, the daughter of Burt and Mayme Emerson in Wellington. She graduated from Southwestern College in Winfield and taught public school for two years. She was the medical office manager for Dr. F.J. Hagan and founded Harriett Ann's Dress Shop in Wichita. She was a housemother at Sigma Kappa sorority at Kansas University.Mrs. Brooks was a member of Plymouth Congregational Church and Daughters of the American Revolution.Survivors include a son, Lee Emerson Schantz, Laguna Niguel, Calif.; a daughter, Becky Ann Cook, Branson, Mo.; nine grandchildren; and a great-grandson.Friends may call Friday evening at the Frank Funeral Home in Wellington.The family suggests memorials to Kids Across America, 1429 Lakeshore Drive, Branson, MO 65616.
