Glen R. Stockstill Sr. 1936 - 2005 Baldwin
Services for Glen R. Stockstill Sr., 68, Baldwin, will be 10 a.m. Friday at Assembly of God Church in Baldwin. Graveside services and burial with military honors will be 3 p.m. at Crown Hill Cemetery in Sedalia, Mo.Mr. Stockstill died Sunday, Oct. 9, 2005, at his home.He was born Oct. 24, 1936, in Levelland, Texas, the son of Thomas Bradford and Nannie Mae Garner Stockstill.When he was 7 years old, his family moved to Sedalia. He graduated from Smith Cotton High School in Sedalia in 1954. He attended Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg, Mo.Mr. Stockstill joined the Marines in 1954 and was a cold weather trainer with the rank of corporal. He was honorably discharged in June 1962.He lived in St. Charles, Mo., before moving to Kansas City, Mo., where he worked for the Rigby Printing Co. for 20 years. He was a lithographer and worked for Herff Jones in Shawnee Mission for 25 years.Mr. Stockstill moved his family to Wellsville in 1972 and to rural Baldwin in 1979. He worked as a farmer and had hogs, cattle and horses.He married Barbara Jean Watson on Jan. 6, 1957, in Lawrence. She survives, of the home.Other survivors include two daughters, Tammy Sue Stockstill Johnson and Dana Lynn Stockstill Crawford, both of Baldwin; a son, Glen Roy Jr., Ottawa; a sister, Ella Mae Stockstill Adams, Corpus Christi, Texas; a brother, Charles, Sedalia; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the church. The family suggests memorials to the church, sent in care of Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home, P.O. Box 64, Baldwin 66006.
