Sharon Kay Raybern 1941 - 2005 Eudora
Services for Sharon Kay Raybern, 63, Eudora, will be at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home in Lawrence. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.Miss Raybern died Sunday, Oct. 9, 2005, at Eudora Nursing Center.She was born Dec. 1, 1941, in Atchison, the daughter of James Claudius Sr. and Lillie May Bryan Raybern. She graduated from Eudora High School in 1960. Miss Raybern worked as a dietitian for Valley View Nursing Home. She was the first employee to receive the Elanor Kharasch Caring Award. She worked at Brandon Woods Retirement Center in Lawrence.Survivors include a son, Richard D. O'Keefe, Perry; a brother, Charles Raybern, Missouri; five sisters, Lorene Martin, Atchison, Geraldine Thomas, Lawrence, Donna Bagby, Tacoma, Wash., Susan Crawford, Eudora, and Catherine Goetler, Rockton, Ill.; and seven grandchildren.Friends may call from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, where the family will receive them from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.The family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society or American Heart Assn., sent in care of the funeral home.Online condolences may be sent at <a href="http://www.rumsey-yost.com">www.rumsey-yost.com</a>.
