James Lee “Jim” Hoertsch

Graveside services with military honors for James Lee “Jim” Hoertsch, 74, Lawrence, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Oak Hill Cemetery. Mr. Hoertsch died Sunday, Oct. 9, 2005, at Lakeview Manor in Lawrence.He was born Aug. 18, 1931, in Wausau, Wis., the son of August and Martha Groth Hoertsch. He moved from Wausau to Lawrence in 1951.Mr. Hoertsch served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He owned Miracle Video, Vipers Video and was co-owner of Picture Works. He also worked at Stokely-Van Camp’s, Crown Drug and the Lawrence Bus Depot. He was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church.Survivors include a sister, Grace Magnus, Rhinelander, Wis.The family suggests memorials to American Legion Dorsey-Liberty Post No. 14 or Veterans of Foreign Wars Alford-Clarke Post No. 852, sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.E-mail condolences may be sent to info@warrenmcelwain.com, subject: Hoertsch.
