Beth E. Myers 1935 - 2005 Topeka
Services for Beth E. Myers, 70, Topeka, are pending and will be announced by Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel in Topeka. Private inurnment will be in Horton City Cemetery.Mrs. Myers died Monday, Oct. 3, 2005, in a car accident near Winslow, Ariz.She was born Oct. 2, 1935, in Emporia, the daughter of Ira E. and Elsie Davies Nicklin. She graduated from Horton High School in 1953, Highland Junior College in 1955 and Kansas State Teachers College in Emporia in 1957. She lived in Emporia from 1956 to 1958, Glasco from 1958 to 1963, Emporia from 1963 to 1964, Syracuse from 1964 to 1965 and in Topeka since 1965.Mrs. Myers worked as a substitute teacher at Glasco and Syracuse elementary schools. She was a paraprofessional at Topeka West High School from 1972 to 1975, Boswell Junior High School from 1975 to 1976 and was an administrative assistant in the Student Health Center at Washburn University in Topeka for 21 years. She retired in June 1997. She was a lifelong member of the Methodist Church, a longtime member of P.E.O. and an alumni member of Emporia State University.She married Charles Jay Myers on May 27, 1956, in Oskaloosa. He died Oct. 10, 2000. Survivors include a son, William I. Myers, Lawrence; three daughters, Michelle R. Bersbach, Overland Park, Janelle R. Hamilton, Topeka, and Paige R. Noss, Olathe; two brothers, David Nicklin, Omaha, Neb., and Wilfred Nicklin, Topeka; four grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; and four stepgreat-grandchildren.Online condolences may be sent at <a href="http://www.penwellgabel.com">www.penwellgabel.com</a>.
