Evelyn L. Kersten 1925 - 2005
A Scriptural prayer service for Evelyn L. Kersten, 80, Quenemo, will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Lawrence Funeral Chapel. She will be cremated.Mrs. Kersten died Saturday, Oct. 8, 2005, at her home.She was born March 9, 1925 in Norton, the daughter of Floyd and Mabel Jeffers Stamey.She lived in Quenemo 12 years after moving from Basehor.She married George Eugene Kersten on Oct. 23, 1954, in Kansas City, Kan. He survives, of the home.Other survivors include three daughters, Janice Heim, Everton, Mo., Linda Carter, Bonner Springs, and Kelly Erickson, Pomona; two brothers, Merle Stamey, Kansas City, Kan., and Virgil Stamey, Denver; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral chapel. The family suggests memorials to Midland Hospice, sent in care of the funeral chapel.
