Florene L. Fowler 1931 - 2005
Funeral services for Florene L. Fowler, 74, Lawrence, will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Fowler died Friday, Oct. 7, 2005, at the University of Kansas Hospital in Kansas City, Kan.She was born Feb. 17, 1931, in Lawrence, the daughter of Monroe and Thelma Mumford White. She graduated from Liberty Memorial High School.Mrs. Fowler worked at Hercules Ammunition Plant near De Soto and at General Motors as an assembler.She was a member of St. James A.M.E. Church in Lawrence.She married John Fowler in 1964. He died in Nov. 1985.A daughter, Maria "Dee" Little, also died earlier.Survivors include three sons, Samuel Logan, Hayward, Calif., Mark Logan, Topeka, and Scott Logan, Lawrence; three daughters, Debra Tolbert, Lisa Logan Mathews and Andrea Logan, all of Lawrence; three sisters, Beatrice Fowler, Hayward, Calif., Vera Reynolds, Stockton, Calif., and Lorna Brown, Overland Park; 23 grandchildren; and 37 great grandchildren.The family will greet friends from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the mortuary.
