Adamarie Scharbach Easton 1912 - 2005
Memorial services for Adamarie Scharbach Easton, 93, formerly of Lawrence, will be at 4 p.m. Thursday in Atlanta at A.S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home and at 1 p.m. Oct. 20 at Plymouth Congregational Church in Lawrence. A private burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.Mrs. Easton died Thursday, Oct. 6, 2005, at Atlanta Hospice.She was born July 6, 1912, in Hobart, Ind., the daughter of Emil and Emma Busse Scharbach.She earned degrees in history and English from Valparaiso University in Indiana. Mrs. Easton lived in Lawrence for 50 years. She was active in University Women's Club at Kansas University and several bridge clubs, and was a 50-year member of PEO in Lawrence and Atlanta. With her husband, a former track and field coach, she helped plan trips for teams, and for 20 summers they ran Camp Easton for Boys in Ely, Minn. She married M.E. "Bill" Easton, in 1932. He died in 1997.Survivors include a son, Richard Edwin Easton, Virginia Beach, Va.; a daughter, Lindsey Easton Benne, Atlanta; four grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.The family suggests memorials to the 1953 National Cross-Country Team Fund through the KU Athletic Corp., attn: Susan Wachter, Allen Fieldhouse, Room 250, 1651 Naismith Drive, Lawrence 66045-7538; to the Drake Relays Baton Club, in care of Mark Kostek, Drake University Athletic Department, 2507 University Ave., Des Moines, Iowa 50311, or to the Hobart Historical Society, P.O.
