Peggy L. Offill 1925 - 2005 Lawrence
Graveside services for Peggy L. Offill, 80, Lawrence, will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Oak Hill Cemetery in Lawrence.Ms. Offill died Thursday, Oct. 6, 2005, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.She was born Jan. 24, 1925, in Boulder, Colo., the daughter of Arthur E. and Florene Phillips Newman. She moved from California to Lawrence in 1962.Ms. Offill retired from Kansas University, where she was a parking gate attendant for 11 years. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary Post 852, American Legion Auxiliary in Ozawkie and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary Aerie 309 in Lawrence.Survivors include a sister, Dorothy Okeson, Atwood; and a brother, Michael Newman, Lawrence.The family suggests memorials to Cottonwood Inc., sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence.E-mail condolences may be sent to <a href="mailto:info@warrenmcelwain.com".info@warrenmcelwain.com</a>, subject: Offill.
