Olive Louise Woodhead 1913 - 2005
Funeral services for Olive Louise Woodhead, 92, formerly of Lawrence, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.Mrs. Woodhead died Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2005, at Lewisville Medical Center in Lewisville, Texas.She was born Aug. 24, 1913, in Hoyt, the daughter of Robert and Mary Mohler Barker.Mrs. Woodhead graduated from Hoyt High School. She lived in Lawrence from 1940 to 1998. She was a co-owner of Gene's Market, a clerk at Weaver's Department Store and an Avon representative.Mrs. Woodhead was a member of First United Methodist Church in Lawrence and the Lawrence Business and Professional Women.She married Gene Woodhead on Feb. 24, 1934, in Topeka. He died in 1977.Survivors include three sons, Robert Woodhead, Baldwin, Randy Woodhead, Fort Worth, Texas, and Ray Woodhead, Shawnee; a daughter, Mary Finney, Garland, Texas; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.Family members will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the service Tuesday.
