James Lloyd Green

Graveside military services for James Lloyd Green, 72, Winchester, will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Leavenworth National Cemetery. Mr. Green died Monday, Nov. 28, 2005, at Winchester Geriatric Center.He was born May 31, 1933, in Jefferson City, Mo., the son of Leonard and Vergie Mae Majors Green. He graduated from New Bloomfield Missouri High School.Mr. Green served in the Navy from 1950 to 1954. He worked as a sheet metal worker for the Hobart Corp. in Kansas City, Kan., and retired in May 1995. He worked as a custodian at McLouth Elementary School after he retired.He married Norma Jean Rickman on May 8, 1955, in the Stanwood community near McLouth. She survives, of the home.Other survivors include three sisters, Dorothy Pavey, Independence, Mo., Dorothy Wade, Fulton, Mo., and Sharon Kruse, Monett, Mo.; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.A son, Lloyd, died earlier.Friends may call from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday at Barnett Funeral Home in Oskaloosa.The family suggests memorials to Jefferson County Geriatric Center or Jefferson County Hospice, sent in care of the funeral home, PO Box 416, Oskaloosa 66066.
