Thomas Amon Jackson

A celebration of life for Thomas Amon Jackson, 57, Matawan, N.J., will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, at New Life Assembly of God Church in Baldwin. Graveside military services were Friday, Nov. 18, in Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery in Wrightstown, N.J.Mr. Jackson died Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2005, at his home.He was born Feb. 12, 1948, in Monett, Mo., the son of Amon and Shirlene Deane Jackson. He grew up in Baldwin and graduated from Baldwin High School.Mr. Jackson served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He worked at a lumber mill in California for 15 years and drove a truck in New Jersey for 12 years.He married Sandee Purdue. They divorced. He married Laura Notte in 1983. They divorced.Survivors include his companion, Rose Betz, Matawan, N.J.; his father, Baldwin; a daughter, Joy Jackson, Long Branch, N.J.; three sisters, Terri Caruthers and Kathy Brumley, both of Baldwin, and Shirley Hall, Las Vegas; and two brothers, Wayne and Curtis, both of Baldwin.
