Megan Lloyd Schoeck

Memorial services for Megan Lloyd Schoeck, 69, Lawrence, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity Episcopal Church. A private inurnment will be at a later date.Mrs. Schoeck died Thursday, Nov. 18, 2005, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital after a long illness.She was born Nov. 16, 1936, in Hutchinson, the daughter of William and Helen Starr Lloyd. She graduated from Hutchinson High School and later from Kansas University with a bachelor’s degree in history. She earned a master’s degree in library science from Denver University.Mrs. Schoeck moved to Lawrence in 1990 from Trier, Germany, and earlier Boulder, Colo. She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Lawrence. She retired as a copy editor for the University Press of Kansas. Earlier, she was a rare book cataloger at the Folger Shakespeare Library in Washington, D.C.She was active in the Pi Beta Phi Sorority at KU, the Endacott Society and the KU Student Union, and was on the boards of the Friends of Lawrence Public Library and the student union.She married Richard Schoeck on Feb. 14, 1977, in Denver. He survives, of the home.Other survivors include a stepson, Eric, New Haven, Conn.; two stepdaughters, Christine Schoeck, Edinburgh, Scotland, and Jennifer Schoeck, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada; a sister, Patricia Lloyd Campbell, Lawrence; five grandchildren; a nephew; a niece; and a great niece.The family suggests memorial contributions to the charity of the donor’s choice.
