Juanita Miers 1922 - 2005 Lawrence

Graveside services for Juanita Miers, 83, Lawrence, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Bonner Springs Cemetery.Mrs. Miers died Thursday, Nov. 17, 2005, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.She was born July 27, 1922, in Hampton, Mo., the daughter of Daniel and Jennie Hughes Smith.Mrs. Miers was a homemaker. She worked as a certified nursing assistant at many Lawrence area nursing homes and volunteered at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.She married Frank E. Miers. He died in 2000.Survivors include a son, C. Alan Miers, Lawrence; two daughters, Debbie L. Miers and Cindy Barnett, both of Lawrence; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at Alden-Harrington Funeral Home in Bonner Springs.The family suggests memorials to the Palliative Care Team at Lawrence Memorial Hospital, sent in care of the funeral home, 214 Oak St., Bonner Springs 66012.
