Timothy Alan Griffith

A farewell celebration for Tim Griffith, 50, Lawrence, will be sometime in December at Liberty Hall, the business he managed for many years. Details will be announced later.Mr. Griffith died Thursday, Nov. 10, 2005, at his home, as a result of heart failure. He will be cremated.He was born July 6, 1955, in Eldorado, Ill., the son of Loren and Jan Griffith. He graduated in 1973 from Raytown High School, Raytown, Mo. He studied sociology and broadcasting at Baker University in Baldwin, where he was a disc jockey on the campus radio station.Mr. Griffith began working at Liberty Hall in the early 1970s when it was called the Lawrence Opera House. He later became the manager and was responsible for all operations and employees in the video store and movie theater, as well as for booking music and wedding events. Survivors include his parents, Loren and Jan Griffith, Overland Park; and two brothers, Jeff, Leawood, and Steve, São Paulo, Brazil.The family suggests memorial contributions to a charity of choice for people in need.
