Charles William Roberman

Funeral services for Charles William Roberman, 94, Lawrence, will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Indian Hills Church of God. Burial will be in Silent City Cemetery in De Soto.Mr. Roberman died Saturday, Nov. 12, 2005, at the Brandon Woods Retirement Center in Lawrence.He was born Jan. 19, 1911, in De Soto, the son of Arthur and Maude Martin Roberman.Mr. Roberman was a police officer at Kansas University from 1966 to 1976 and worked for Hartman’s Standard Service Station from 1948 to 1965.He was a member of the Indian Hills Church of God. He was also a past president of the Lawrence Bowling Assn., a lifetime member of the National Bowling Assn., and he helped found the Church Bowling League in Lawrence.Mr. Roberman married Jozina Irene Abel on July 13, 1933. She died June 17, 2004.Survivors include a son, Charles, Houston; three daughters, Irene Blom, Lawrence, Grace Ellis, Brownsville, Texas, and Charlene Reynolds, Andover; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.One grandson died earlier.The family will greet friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary. Family members suggest memorials to the American Diabetes Assn. or The Gideon’s International, sent in care of the mortuary.
