Thomas Lowell Buckley

Services for Thomas Lowell Buckley, 76, Topeka, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at First Congregational Church in Topeka. Private inurnment will be at a later date.Mr. Buckley died Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2005, at Select Specialty Hospital in Topeka.He was born March 16, 1929, in Fairmont, W.Va., the son of Harry D. Buckley and Dorothy V. Childs. He graduated from Fairmont High School and attended a local college for two years. He later graduated from Trenton State Teachers College.Mr. Buckley served in the U.S. Coast Guard from September 1948 to May 1950. He worked at Fairmont Supply Co. until 1954 and taught at Ocean City High School in New Jersey. He joined the FBI, where he served for three and a half years. He and his wife became distributors for Tupperware in Topeka in 1970 and retired in 1994.He was an active member of Faith Community Church of Topeka. He was an active member of the Kidney Foundation and participated in the Ride for Life many times.Mr. Buckley married Ruth Jane Pemberton on June 27, 1953, in Cape May, N.J. She survives, of the home.Other survivors include two sons, Thomas, Baldwin, and John D., Raleigh, N.C.; a daughter, Janet Buckley, Flagler Beach, Fla.; and four grandsons.The family suggests memorials to the American Heart Assn., Memorial Processing Center, P.O.
