Jackie W. "Jack" McNary 1953 - 2005 Ozawkie

Services for Jackie W. "Jack" McNary, 52, Ozawkie, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Rock Creek Bible Church north of Meriden. Burial will be in Ozawkie Cemetery.Mr. McNary died Monday, Nov. 7, 2005, at his home after a long illness.He was born Oct. 21, 1953, in Topeka, the son of Lewis Wayne and Lois Jean Hurst McNary. He graduated from Oskaloosa High School in 1971 and lived in Ozawkie since 1991. Mr. McNary was a warehouseman at Innovia Films Company in Topeka. He was a volunteer firefighter for the Ozawkie Fire Department, where he served as fire chief for a year. He was also a trustee on the Fire Board. He coached boys baseball for many years. He was a member of St. Matthews Lutheran Church in Nortonville and attended Rock Creek Bible Church near Meriden.He married Deborah R. "Debbie" O'Roke on July 25, 1981, in Nortonville. She survives, of the home.Other survivors include his father and stepmother, L. Wayne and Theresa Ann Askren McNary, Ozawkie; two sons, Brian and Brad, both of the home; three brothers, Rodney, Oskaloosa, John, Topeka, and Mike, Meriden; a sister, Wanda Clark, Topeka; four stepbrothers, Donald Askren Jr., Leon, David Askren, Netawaka, Greg Askren, Concordia, and Clifton Askren, Holton; three stepsisters, Mary Pat Wilson, Holton, Sally Jo Alley, Circleville, and Pamela Holaday, Wamego.The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Barnett Funeral Home in Oskaloosa.The family suggests memorials to Jefferson County Hospice, 1212 Walnut St. Oskaloosa 66066, or sent in care of the funeral home, P.O.
