John Moffett Robson 1935 - 2005 Baldwin
Services for John Moffett Robson, 70, Baldwin, will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Annunciation Catholic Church in Baldwin. Graveside inurnment will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in St. George's Catholic Cemetery in Munden.Mr. Robson died Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2005, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.He was born Sept. 24, 1935, in Denison, the son of John Wallace and Vera Moffett Robson. He graduated from high school in Denison in 1953 and attended Baker University with the class of 1957, where he was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon.Mr. Robson worked as a milk tester in Nemaha County. He also worked for Mann Kline and American Fore Loyalty insurance companies in Topeka. He owned Baldwin Insurance from 1962 until he retired in 1995. He continued to work at Wasson Car Wash after he retired. He was active in the Jaycees, Baldwin Rotary Club, where he was part of the Rotary International Exchange Program. He was a member of the City Council, was city treasurer and Maple Leaf Festival Committee treasurer. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and Elks Club. He was a church lector and was named Baker Business Person of the Year in 1987.He married Loretta Kathleen Splichal on June 1, 1960, in Munden. She survives, of the home.Other survivors include a son, Mark, Baldwin; a daughter, Lori Robson, rural Lawrence; and two sisters, Eleanor Phillips, Mayetta, and Mary Belle Keys, Holton.The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. today following a Rosary at 6:30 p.m. at the church.The family suggests memorials to the church or Catholic Charities, sent in care of Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home, P.O.
