Kittie Shell Young 1915 - 2005 Eudora
No services are planned for Kittie Shell Young, 90, Eudora.Ms. Young died Sunday, May 29, 2005, at Eudora Nursing Center.She was born May 9, 1915, in Shiloh, Ark., the daughter of Jay Hue and Kittie Ann Mitchell. She moved to Eudora in 1953.Ms. Young donated her body to University of Kansas Hospital, Kansas City, Kan. She was a member of First Southern Baptist Church in Eudora.She married Robert Caskey in 1933,. They divorced. She married Jack Nicholson in 1936. He died in 1937. She married John Benjamin Young in 1938. He died in 1988.A daughter, Lena Ruth Caskey, died in 1936, and a son, John Wayne Young, died in 2004.Survivors include four daughters, Jonell Cundiff, Rockwood, Tenn., Shirley Varney, Olathe, Paulette Young, Edgerton, and Opal Kaufman, Eudora; 14 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.The family suggests memorials to Special Olympics, 5280 Foxridge Drive, Mission 66202, Eudora Nursing Center or Heart of America Hospice, sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
