Margaret Schroeder Sinclair

Services for Margaret Schroeder Sinclair, 90, Ottawa, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Ottawa. A public inurnment will be held after the service in Highland Cemetery in Ottawa.Mrs. Sinclair died Tuesday, May 24, 2005, at Ransom Memorial Hospital in Ottawa.She was born April 26, 1915, in Schoenfeld, Russia, the daughter of Rev. Gerhard P. Schroeder and Gertrude Peters Schroeder. She was raised in a German Mennonite home and lived in Canada before moving to the United States. She also lived in Massachusetts, Connecticut, Minnesota, Ohio and finally Ottawa. She graduated from Gordon College in Wenham, Mass., in 1941.Mrs. Sinclair served as a minister’s wife and U.S. Navy Chaplain’s wife during World War II and the Korean War. She was a homemaker and lived in parishes in several states. She was a member of Plymouth Congregational Church (UCC) in Lawrence, PEO and Westminster Presbyterian Church in Ottawa.She married the Rev. Donald K. Sinclair in 1941. He survives and lives in Ottawa.Other survivors include two daughters, Patricia Sinclair, Lawrence, and Ann Sinclair, Ottawa; a brother, Peter Schroeder; three sisters, Katherine Freeman, Joanne Wiebe and Doris Bender; a grandson; and a great-grandson.A granddaughter died earlier.The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home in Ottawa.The family suggests memorials to the Children and Youth Ministries at Plymouth Congregational Church or Westminster Presbyterian Church Mission Fund, sent in care of Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home, P.O.
