Terry E. McWilliams 1936 - 2005
A celebration of life for Terry E. McWilliams, 69, Lawrence, will be from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at Maceli's in Lawrence, 1031 N.H.Mr. McWilliams died Thursday, May 26, 2005, at his home after battling cancer.He was born Jan. 9, 1936, in Kansas City, Kan., the son of James E. and Florence P. McWilliams. He grew up in Kansas City, Kan., and Lawrence and graduated from Lawrence High School. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in business administration from Kansas University, where he was a member of Phi Beta Kappa fraternity. Mr. McWilliams served in the U.S. Army National Guard with the Second Battalion of the 13th Infantry in the 69th Brigade. He was a store director for Checkers Food Store in Lawrence. He formerly delivered groceries for Schmidt's in Kansas City, Kan. He then worked for Fleming Foods, where he became a regional manager and owned and operated a store in Raymore, Mo., for several years.He married Deanna Workman. She survives, of the home.Other survivors include two sons, Troy, Salt Lake City, Utah, and Matthew, Houston; two daughters, Shannon McWilliams, Lawrence, and Teri McWilliams, Gladstone, Mo.; two sisters, Joan Johnson, Leawood, and Mary Anne Suppes, Shawnee; two brothers, Larry, Shawnee, and Michael, Kansas City, Mo.; and six grandchildren.The family suggests memorials to the Multiple Sclerosis Society or American Cancer Society, sent in care of Lawrence Funeral Chapel.
