Vivian Snyder Hunter 1918 - 2005 Lawrence
Graveside services for Vivian Snyder Hunter, 86, Lawrence, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Albany Rural Cemetery in Albany, N.Y.Mrs. Hunter died Thursday, May 26, 2005, at Brandon Woods Retirement Community.She was born July 24, 1918, in Utica, N.Y., the daughter of Ray P. and Clara L. Snyder. She was an alumna of Mount Holyoke College in Massachusetts.Mrs. Hunter was a guidance counselor at Bethlehem Central Middle School in Delmar, N.Y. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Lawrence and Bonita Springs, Fla. She was a volunteer at the Watkins Museum in Lawrence and the Teddy Bear Museum in Naples, Fla. She married Robert V. Hunter in 1941. He died in 1959. She married William Nieman in 1986. He died in 1998. Survivors include a son, John R. Hunter, Edmond, Okla.; two daughters, Diane H. Tortolani, Columbia, Md., and Jane H. Imber, Lawrence; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Smith Center at Brandon Woods Retirement Community and from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Monday at Tebbutt and Frederick Memorial Home in Albany.The family suggests memorials to the Lawrence Humane Society or any animal shelter, sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.E-mail condolences may be sent to <a href="mailto:info@warrenmcelwain.com">info@warrenmcelwain.com</a>, subject: Hunter.
