Kendrick Max Gibler

Graveside services for Kendrick Max Gibler, 71, Lawrence, will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in Memorial Park Cemetery in Lawrence.Mr. Gibler died Tuesday, May 24, 2005, at Olathe Care Center in Olathe.He was born Oct. 22, 1933, in Lawrence, the son of Eugene Edmond and Edith Petty Gibler. He was a lifelong resident of the Lawrence, Linwood and De Soto areas.Mr. Gibler served in the U.S. Navy from 1957 to 1958. He worked as a residential painter for 35 years and retired in 1992.He married Shirley Campbell on Oct. 19, 1960, in Miami, Okla. They divorced.Survivors include two sons, Michael Gibler, Linwood, and Steve Gibler, Lawrence; a stepson, “Bo” Campbell, Lawrence; a daughter, Kathy Buckley, Lawrence; two brothers, Norman Gibler, Lawrence, and Dale Gibler, Kailua, Hawaii; a sister, Elaine Jones, Lawrence; seven grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and nine stepgreat-grandchildren.A granddaughter died earlier.Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and 8 a.m. to noon Saturday at Lawrence Funeral Chapel.The family suggests memorials to Cornerstone Southern Baptist Church, sent in care of Lawrence Funeral Chapel.
