Elaine M. Schmitz

Mass of Christian Burial for Elaine M. Schmitz, 45, Baldwin, will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Annunciation Catholic Church in Baldwin. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.Mrs. Schmitz died Wednesday, May 25, 2005, south of Lawrence.She was born Jan. 1, 1960, in Axtell, the daughter of Dave and Marilyn Gudenkauf Carlson. She graduated from Nemaha Valley High School. She lived in Seneca, Baileyville, Marysville and moved to the Baldwin area in 1999.Mrs. Schmitz ran a daycare and preschool for 10 years in Marysville before working for the Marysville School District as a paraprofessional. She also worked for the Baldwin City School District as a paraprofessional and at Baldwin City Elementary School. She was a member of Annunciation Catholic Church.She married Tim R. Schmitz on July 8, 1978, in Seneca. He survives, of the home.Other survivors include her parents, Seneca; three daughters, Amy Schmitz, Overland Park, Stacy Heimann, Tonganoxie, and Kelsey Schmitz, Overland Park; five brothers, Dan, Rick and Ken Carlson, all of Seneca, Mark Carlson, Leavenworth, and Keith Carlson, Topeka; five sisters, Nancy Gudenkauf, Alpharetta, Ga., Joyce Borg, Fall City, Neb., Linda Peterson, Olathe, Diane Hilbert, Topeka, and Lisa Young, Frisco, Texas; and her grandfather, Edward Carlson, Diamond, Ohio. A rosary will be at 7 p.m. today at the church, where the family will receive friends after the rosary.The family suggests memorials to the Elaine Schmitz Memorial Fund, sent in care of Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home, P.O.
