Elmerine Agnes O’Brien Rogers

Graveside services for Elmerine Agnes O’Brien Rogers, 84, Lawrence, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Memorial Park Cemetery.Mrs. Rogers died Wednesday, May 25, 2005, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.She was born Dec. 15, 1920, in Tonganoxie, the daughter of John and Elizabeth Southard Sparks.Mrs. Rogers was a sales clerk for Duckwalls and the Social Service League of Lawrence. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Ottawa Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary No. 5901, Eagles Lodge Auxiliary No. 309 in Lawrence and the Friendship Lodge No. 336 Rebekahs in Osawatomie.She married Harold O’Brien on Nov. 9, 1938. They divorced. She married Jack Rogers on April 14, 1972, in Lawrence. He survives, of the home.Other survivors include a son, George O’Brien, Lawrence; two daughters, Clara Holladay, Lawrence, and Mary Higginbotham, Osawatomie; three stepsons; five stepdaughters; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.The family will receive friends from noon to 2 p.m. Friday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary.The family suggests memorials to the VFW National Home for Children or a charity of the donor’s choice, sent in care of the mortuary.E-mail condolences may be sent to info@warrenmcelwain.com, subject: Rogers.
