Services for Vergie Ellen Hoffman Heffner, 98, Worden, will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Worden United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Worden Cemetery. Mrs. Heffner died Tuesday, May 24, 2005, at Baldwin Health Care and Rehabilitation Center.She was born April 10, 1907, the daughter of Benjamin Sebastian and Grace Bragg Hoffman.She attended Bethel Church and Brubaker Grade School and graduated from the eighth grade. She moved to Lawrence in 1953 and to Baldwin Health Care and Rehabilitation Center in 1997. She was a homemaker and partner with her husband in a farming operation. She was superintendent of the first combined Vacation Bible School of Worden E.U.B. and St. John's Church in 1948 and superintendent of the children's department of the Sunday school. She became a member of Worden United Methodist Church in 1932. She married Floyd Elmer Heffner on Feb. 24, 1932, in Worden. He died Aug. 16, 1996. Survivors include a daughter, Ruby M. Armstrong, Baldwin; four sisters, Elgitha A. Hepner, Topeka, Wilma J. Donadio, Dallas, and Doris J. Brown and Mari-Donna Cain, both of Ottawa; two brothers, Maurice D. Hoffman, Des Moines, Iowa, and Donald E.
