Mabel Jean Quinlan

Mass of Christian Burial for Mabel Jean Quinlan, 75, Lawrence, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Lawrence. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Coffeyville.Mrs. Quinlan died Monday, May 16, 2005, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.She was born Dec. 17, 1929, in Tonganoxie, the daughter of Walter M. and Mabel Burnau Quisenberry. She graduated from Liberty Memorial High School in Lawrence in 1948 and attended Kansas University.Mrs. Quinlan worked as a telephone operator and at New York Cleaners. She started working for Davol Inc., in 1972 and retired as a quality assurance inspector in 1997. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and volunteered at the Rummage House. She married John R. Quinlan on July 23, 1955. He died in 1962.Survivors include a son, Bill Quinlan, Lawrence; two daughters, Ann Martens, Lee’s Summit, Mo., and Beth Powers, Lawrence; and six grandchildren.The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Quisenberry Funeral Home in Tonganoxie, where a rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m.The family suggests memorial contributions to the American Lung Assn., or the church, sent in care of the funeral home, P.O.
