Irene Miskimen 1917 - 2005 Lawrence
Graveside services for Irene Miskimen, 87, Lawrence, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Memorial Park Cemetery in Lawrence.Mrs. Miskimen died Wednesday, May 11, 2005, at Pioneer Ridge Retirement Community in Lawrence.She was born July 9, 1917, in Ringo County, Iowa, the daughter of William Albert and Maude Navada Kinder Richardson. She moved to Kansas at an early age and graduated from Edgerton High School.Mrs. Miskimen was a member of Edgerton United Methodist Church.She married Raymond C. Miskimen on Sept. 16, 1940, in Lawrence. He died Jan. 29, 1994.Survivors include a son, Larry Miskimen, Lawrence; a daughter, Kay Davenport, Knoxville, Tenn.; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.Friends may call from noon to 9 p.m. Saturday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home in Lawrence.The family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society, sent in care of the funeral home.Online condolences may be sent at <a href="http://www.rumsey-yost.com" target="_blank">www.rumsey-yost.com</a>.
