Charles “Chuck” Clyne

Services for Charles “Chuck” Clyne, 71, Lawrence, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Bishop Seabury Academy. Mr. Clyne died Wednesday, May 11, 2005, at his home.He was born Sept. 1, 1933, in Rochester, N.Y., the son of Jacob and Jennie Steffenhagen Clyne. He graduated from West High School in Rochester in 1951 and Paul Smith’s College in Saranac, N.Y., in 1959 with a degree in forestry.Mr. Clyne served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955. He was an outdoorsman and conservationist. He was a ranger, guide and caretaker for state parks in New York and retired after working for the National Park Service at Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado.He married Lillian Janice “Jan” Fassett in 1957, in Rochester. She survives, of the home.Other survivors include two sons, Bradley J., Witter, Ark., and Brian C., Lawrence; two brothers, Allen, Johnson City, Tenn., and Jerry, Bergen, N.Y.; and seven grandchildren.The family suggests memorials to Hospice Care in Douglas County, 200 Maine St., Suite C, Lawrence 66044.Online condolences may be sent at www.rumsey-yost.com.
