Thomas Neil Atkins 1944 - 2005 Artesia, N.M.
Graveside services for Thomas Neil Atkins, 61, Eudora, Kan., will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Twin Oaks Memorial Park in Artesia.Mr. Atkins died Monday, May 9, 2005, in Artesia.He was born April 9, 1944, in Hobbs, the son of Phillip Neil and Letha Mae Johnson Atkins. He moved from Hobbs to Artesia in 1961. He had lived in Kansas since 1982.Mr. Atkins served in the Army National Guard. He was an electronics engineer in communications for the Santa Fe Railway and Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway.He married Verna J. Lewis on Sept. 29, 1965, in Artesia. She survives, of the home.Other survivors include three sons, Bryan N., Blue Springs, Mo., Jason, Shawnee, Okla., and Todd, Overland Park, Kan.; a daughter, Tiffany Shomer, Phoenix; and a brother, C.P., Sun City, Ariz.The family suggests memorials to the American Diabetes Assn., P.O.
