Donna Jean Roberts 1938 - 2005
Services for Donna Jean Roberts, 66, Perry, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Lawrence Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Lawrence. Mrs. Roberts died Saturday, April 30, 2005, at Rand Memorial Hospital in Freeport, Grand Bahamas.She was born July 31, 1938, in St. Joseph, Mo., the daughter of Donald Rex and Eva Jean Durbin Hart. She graduated from Will Rogers High School in Tulsa, Okla., in 1958. She had lived in the Perry area since 1963. Mrs. Roberts retired as a supervisor of layout from Josten's American Yearbook in Topeka, where she had worked for 20 seasons. She also owned and operated Ale-n-Vino in North Topeka for 14 years. She was a member of Gage Gals bowling league in North Topeka.She married Roy Lee Roberts Jr. on Jan. 24, 1963, in Topeka. He survives, of the home.Other survivors include a son, Roy Lee Roberts III, Meriden; a daughter, Kelly Yoder, Perry; two brothers, Rex Hart, Topeka, and Phillip Hart, Perry; a sister, Janet Preston, Perry; and five grandchildren.A daughter, Tracy Layne Roberts, and a granddaughter died earlier.The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. Monday at the chapel.The family suggests memorials to an organization of the donor's choice, sent in care of the chapel.E-mail condolences may be sent to <a href="mailto:lfc@sbcglobal.net">lfc@sbcglobal.net</a>.
