Charles H. Mauler

Services for Charles H. Mauler, 81, Olmitz, will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Olmitz. Burial will be in St. Ann’s Cemetery in Olmitz.Mr. Mauler died Monday, May 2, 2005, at his home.He was born April 25, 1924, in Olmitz, the son of Frank and Mary Bahr Mauler. He was a lifelong resident of Barton County.Mr. Mauler was a farmer and stockman. He was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, a past grand knight of Olmitz Council, fourth-degree knight and a member of the 2100 Club, all of Olmitz. He also was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles No. 646 in Great Bend and a former board member of Mid Kansas Quality Water.He married Hermina “Minnie” Skolaut Mauler on Nov. 8, 1980, in Olmitz. She survives, of the home.Other survivors include three sons, Bernard Jr., Otis, Gerald, Great Bend, and Alvin, Lawrence; a sister, Agnes Haberman, Great Bend; 12 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at Bryant Funeral Home in Great Bend, where there will be a vigil service and Knights of Columbus rosary at 7 p.m. today.The family suggests memorials to the church or Otis Ambulance Service, sent in care of the funeral home, 1425 Patton Road, Great Bend 67530.
