Ruth Patterson Chilcott 1915 - 2005 Tecumseh
Services for Ruth Patterson Chilcott, 89, Lecompton, will be at 11 a.m. today at Tecumseh United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Big Springs Cemetery.Mrs. Chilcott died Friday, April 29, 2005, at a Topeka hospital.She was born Sept. 28, 1915, near Harveyville, the daughter of Lloyd A. and Mary Alice Michael Patterson. She graduated from Burlingame High School in 1932 and had lived in Lecompton for 48 years.Mrs. Chilcott was a riveter during World War II for Consolidated Air Craft in San Diego. She later owned and operated the Home Cafe in Topeka for many years. She was a member of Tecumseh United Methodist Church.She married Justin Chilcott on Nov. 27, 1954, in Olathe. He survives, of the home.Other survivors include a son, Richard Werts, Bella Vista, Ark.; three daughters, Linda Poort, Tecumseh, Cheryl Busey, Topeka, and Alice Bates, Waverly, Neb.; two brothers, Harold L. Patterson, Topeka, and Howard T. Patterson, Wichita; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Carey Funeral Home in Burlingame, where the family will meet friends from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.The family suggests memorials to the American Heart Assn. or the church, sent in care of the funeral home, 503 S.
