Walter 'Marlin' McPherson 1915 - 2005 Oskaloosa

Services for Walter "Marlin" McPherson, 90, Oskaloosa, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Presbyterian Church of Oskaloosa. Burial will be in McLouth Cemetery.He died Saturday, June 18, 2005, at Hickory Pointe Care Center, Oskaloosa.He was born Jan. 7, 1915, in McLouth, the son of Walter Guy and Ruby Kimmel McPherson.Mr. McPherson graduated from McLouth High School and served in the Army during World War II. He worked for many years as a self-employed farmer and was a member of the Presbyterian Church.He married Irene Agnes Turner on June 12, 1946, in Oskaloosa. She survives, of the home.Other survivors include five daughters, Eileen McPherson, Tulsa, Okla., Marlene Prigel, Golden, Colo., Kathleen Argersinger, Lawrence, Jolene Murphy, Colorado Springs, Colo., and Gaylene Croker, Camarillo, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Barnett Funeral Home in Oskaloosa.
