Wesley Wayne Miller

Graveside services for Wesley Wayne Miller, 78, Eudora, will be 2 p.m. Monday at Oak Hill Cemetery. Mr. Miller died Friday, June 17, 2005, at Eudora Nursing Center.He was born July 22, 1926, in Lawrence, the son of William Lafayette and Effie Fetty Miller. He graduated from Liberty Memorial High School in 1944.Mr. Miller served in the U.S. Army during World War II and earned the Bronze Star and Combat Infantry Badge.He was an iron worker and a bricklayer before going to work for the City of Lawrence Sanitation Department. He retired in 1992.He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Alford-Clarke Post 852.Survivors include three brothers, Lloyd and Robert, both of Lawrence, and Glenn, Redding, Calif.; a stepbrother, Danny Dillon, Bonner Springs; three stepsisters, Margie Hopkins, Patty Hobbs and Delores Bryant, all of Lawrence.The family suggests memorial contributions to the VFW, sent in care of Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home.Online condolences may be sent to www.rumsey-yost.com.
