Services for Esther Allen Roper, 82, Kansas City, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Matthew Apostle Catholic Church, Kansas City, Mo. Burial will be in Mount Moriah Cemetery, Kansas City, Mo.She died Thursday, June 2, 2005, at Timberlake Care Center in Kansas City, Mo.She graduated from Bishop Ward High School, Kansas City, Kan., in 1941. She worked at SS Kresge. During World War II she helped build B-25 bombers at a plant in Kansas City, Kan. She also worked at a Kansas City radio school.She had lived in Paragould, Ark.; St. Joseph; Minneapolis and Kansas City.Mrs. Roper was a Girl Scout leader and was involved in the Parent-Teachers Assn. She was a volunteer at St. Mary's Hospital in Rogers, Ark., and the veterans hospital in Fayetteville, Ark.She married Claude Roper on Feb. 3, 1947. He survives, of the home. Other survivors include three daughters, Patricia Young, Kansas City, Mo., Diana Stobbe, Frisco, Texas, and Linda Tochtrop, Lawrence, Kan.; a son, Tom Roper, Raymore; a brother, Ralph Allen, Overland Park, Kan.; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.The family suggests memorial contributions to Odyssey HealthCare, a hospice agency, in care of Cullen Funeral Home, 612 W.
