Judith Ann 'Judy' Oakson 1938 - 2005 Tonganoxie
Services for Judith Ann "Judy" Oakson, 66, Ozawkie, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Tonganoxie United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Hubbel Hill Cemetery in Tonganoxie.Mrs. Oakson died Monday, July 25, 2005, in Topeka.She was born Nov. 28, 1938, in Kansas City, Kan., the daughter of Raymond L. and Darline Klamm Sutton. She graduated from Turner High School and attended Kansas University for two years. She moved from Tonganoxie to Ozawkie, where she lived for 17 years.Mrs. Oakson was a bookkeeper for Sutton-Kolman Ford dealership in Tonganoxie. For 10 years, she was an office manager for Lake Ridge Estates Home Owner's Assn., where she was a board member for nine years. She was a member of Tonganoxie United Methodist Church and Tonganoxie Sertoma Club. She was also a member of the Day Lily and Gardening Club in Topeka.She married Dale Ray Oakson on July 12,1968, in Tonganoxie. He survives, of the home.Other survivors include her mother, Tonganoxie; two sons, Mike Brown, Conroe, Texas, and Chris Brown, Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif.; a stepson, Douglas Oakson, Linwood; two stepdaughters, Debbie Oakson Sheals, Columbia, Mo., and Dianna Freeman, Gladstone, Mo.; a sister, Barbara Kolman, Tonganoxie; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. today at Barnett Funeral Home in Oskaloosa. The casket will remain closed.The family suggests memorials to the Topeka Rescue Mission, sent in care of the funeral home, P.O. Box 416, Oskaloosa 66066.
