Raymond B. Ritter

Services for Raymond B. Ritter, 83, Russell, will be at 10 a.m. today at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Russell. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Russell.Mr. Ritter died Friday, July 22, 2005, at Russell Regional Hospital.He was born Nov. 20, 1921, in Dresden, the son of Bernard and Philomena Kruse Ritter. He attended schools in Leoville. He had lived near Oberlin and moved to Russell 10 years ago.Mr. Ritter farmed southwest of Oberlin for nearly 40 years. He was a member of the Unified School District 294 board of education for many years. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and a former member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Sacred Heart Church Council in Oberlin. He was a fourth degree member of Oberlin Knights of Columbus Council 5387.He married Bernadine Colling on Aug. 6, 1955, in McCook, Neb. She survives, of the home.Other survivors include five daughters, Marie Bloss, Seattle, Ramona Cook, Russell, Delores Healey, Maple Hill, Rose Cisneros, De Soto, and Catherine Ritter, Russell; three brothers, Francis and Sylvester, both of Dresden, and Victor, Jennings; four sisters, Florence Thompson, Hoxie, Sister Dolores Ritter, Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, Alfreda Colling, McCook, and Bernadine Spresser, Leoville; and 11 grandchildren.The family suggests memorials to the Raymond Ritter Memorial Fund, sent in care of Pohlman-Heise Mortuary, 610 N.
