Joyce DeSalvo 1949 - 2005 Lawrence
Services for Joyce DeSalvo, 56, Lawrence, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Lawrence Catholic Campus Center in Lawrence. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery in Lawrence. Mrs. DeSalvo died Wednesday, July 20, 2005, at her home. She was born May 4, 1949, in Patton, Pa., the daughter of Louis and Eva Weary Fiasco. She graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 1971 and received her master's degree in education from the University of Arkansas in 1985. Mrs. DeSalvo was a learning strategies teacher at Southwest Junior High School for 10 years. She received the Legacy Award for excellence in teaching. She was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Campus Center. She married Francis "Frank" J. DeSalvo Jr., on Aug. 18, 1973, in Spangler, Pa. He survives, of the home. Other survivors include two daughters, Allegra DeSalvo Feito, Dallas, and Bria DeSalvo, Lawrence; a brother, David A. Fiasco, Louisville, Texas; and a sister, Sharon McConnell, Patton, Pa. The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at Warren-McElwain Mortuary. The family suggests memorials to St. Luke's Cancer Institute, sent in care of the mortuary.
