Marjorie L. Ray 1921 - 2005 Winchester
Services for Marjorie L. Ray, 84, Winchester, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Winchester United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Plum Grove Cemetery, northeast of Oskaloosa.Mrs. Ray died Thursday, July 14, 2005, at Jefferson County Memorial Hospital in Winchester.She was born June 24, 1921, in Winchester, the daughter of Vern Curry and Hattie Belle Carter Davis. She was a lifelong resident of Winchester and graduated from Winchester High School in 1940.Mrs. Ray worked as a meat wrapper for 22 years at Macomber Meat Processing in Winchester and retired in 1986.She married Donald Howard Ray on June 22, 1940, in Winchester. He died Feb. 17, 2000.Survivors include a son, Albert Ross Ray, Winchester; a grandson; and two great-grandchildren.The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Sunday at Barnett Funeral Home in Oskaloosa.
