Bud Thomas Medlock 1921 - 2005 Oskaloosa
Services for Bud Thomas Medlock, 84, Oskaloosa, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Barnett Funeral Home in Oskaloosa. Burial will follow in Ozawkie Cemetery. Mr. Medlock died Friday, July 8, 2005, in Topeka. He was born April 10, 1921, in Park Hill, Okla., the son of John and Ann Schmelza Medlock. Mr. Medlock served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He worked as a truck driver for a local union. He was a life member of the Ozawkie American Legion and a member of Evangelical Free Living Water Church in Oskaloosa. He married Mary Lowe in 1951. They divorced. He married Ruby Cox. They divorced. He married Sylvia Nitcher in 1986. She died Aug. 17, 2003. Survivors include a son, Paul, Topeka; four daughters, Rita Higgins, Oskaloosa, Waletta Santos, Linwood, Kay Rose, Perry, and Kimberly Faulk, Eudora; a brother, Ben, Inola, Okla.; a sister, Jewell Oquin, Inola, Okla.; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to the Topeka VA Hospital, sent in care of the funeral home, PO Box 416 Oskaloosa 66066.
