Dorothy M. Kleinsorge 1914 - 2005 Colby
Services for Dorothy M. Kleinsorge, 91, Colby, will be at 10 a.m. today at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Colby. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Mrs. Kleinsorge died Saturday, June 25, 2005, at Citizens Medical Center in Colby.She was born Jan. 16, 1914, in Cottonwood, Idaho, the daughter of Charles and Mahala Dempewolf. She moved to Kansas as a child.Mrs. Kleinsorge was a homemaker, and later worked in the dietary and laundry departments of St. Thomas Hospital/Citizens Medical Center. She retired in 1985. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, St. Anne's Altar Society Circle, Daughters of Isabella and the Handmaidens Prayer Group.She married George A. Kleinsorge on May 1, 1933, in New Almelo. He died Dec. 22, 1998.Survivors include a son, George Kleinsorge Jr., Enterprise; five daughters, Sister Donna Marie Kleinsorge, Colby, Sister Vivian Kleinsorge, Hays, Melva Edmonds, Lawrence, Evelyn Henderson, Levant, and Eleanora Hanna, Virginia Beach, Va.; three brothers, Donald Dempewolf, Santa Cruz, Calif., Robert Dempewolf, Fairfield Bay, Ark., and Robert Dempewolf, Cedar City, Utah; a sister, Leona Alsdorf, Fresno, Calif.; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.The family suggests memorials to the church, sent in care of Kersenbrock Funeral Chapel, 745 S. Country Club Drive, Colby 67701.
