Services for Marilyn “Lyn” Gregg Rothwell, 74, Burlington, Vt., were Saturday, June 25, at St. Paul’s Episcopal Cathedral in Burlington, Vt. Burial was in St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Bronx, New York.Mrs. Rothwell died Thursday, June 16, 2005, in Burlington, Vt.She was born July 12, 1930, in Rumford, Maine, the daughter of George Wakefield and Helen O’Rear Gregg. She attended the University of Rochester.Mrs. Rothwell was the past founder and director of Douglas County Visiting Nurses Assn., from 1967 to 1970. She was a nurse practitioner and assistant clinical professor of medicine at the University of Vermont Medical College from 1975 to 2001. She was recognized as a Pioneering Nurse Practitioner in Vermont.She married Kenneth Sprague Rothwell on June 26, 1954, in Cortland, N.Y. He survives of the home.Other survivors include a son, Kenneth Rothwell, Jr., Newtonville, Mass.; three daughters, Mary Carroll Davis, New York, Elizabeth and Anne Rothwell, both of Burlington, Vt.; a brother, Haven Gregg, St. Charles, Mo.; and five grandchildren.An infant daughter, Sara Rothwell, died earlier.The family suggests memorials to the Visiting Nurses Assn., of Douglas County, 200 Maine St., Lawrence 66044.
