James R. Anderson

Services for James R. “Bud” Anderson, 83, Perry, will be private. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Perry.Mr. Anderson died Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2005, at his home in Perry.He was born Jan. 21, 1922, in Taylor, Mo., the son of Grover Cleveland and Maude Mabel Powers Anderson. He lived in Perry since 1964.Mr. Anderson served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Pacific and participated in the invasion of Okinawa. He served in the Civilian Conservation Corps from 1939 to 1940 and received an honorable discharge. He was a heavy equipment operator through Operating Engineers Local Union 101 in Kansas City and retired in 1985. He was a member of Local 101 Retirees. He was also a member of Lafayette Masonic Lodge 16 AF&AM in Manhattan and a 32nd degree member of the Southern Jurisdiction of Scottish Rite.He married Fern Loella Larson on Aug. 4, 1941, in Clay Center. She survives, of the home.Other survivors include two sons, Dennis, Topeka, and Danny W., Perry; a daughter, Patricia Lashbrook, Overland Park; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.Barnett Funeral Home in Oskaloosa is in charge of arrangements.
