Wilma F. Kizer 1924 - 2005

Services for Wilma F. Kizer, 81, Topeka, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Ninth Street Baptist Church in Lawrence. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Lawrence.Miss Kizer died Sunday, Dec. 25, 2005, at Stormont-Vail Regional Health Center in Topeka.She was born April 16, 1924, in Stull, the daughter of William Alexander and Ina Clayborne Kizer. She graduated from Liberty Memorial High School in Lawrence; Prairie Bible Institute in Three Hills, Alberta, Canada; and Washburn University in Topeka.Miss Kizer was a former home missionary in Mississippi, Alabama and Georgia. She taught elementary school in Topeka and was a substitute teacher in Lawrence. She was a member of Ninth Street Baptist Church and the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in Topeka. She was also a member of the Retired Teachers Assn. and Delta Kappa Gamma Society.Survivors include three sisters, Maxine Newman and Bertha Nelson, both of Lawrence, and Ruby Moore, Topeka.Friends may call from noon to 9 p.m. today at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home in Lawrence, where the family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. today.The family suggests memorials to Ninth Street Baptist Church or Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, sent in care of the funeral home.Online condolences may be sent at <a href="http://www.rumsey-yost.com">www.rumsey-yost.com</a>.
