Russell Tuckel 1917 - 2005
Services for Russell Tuckel, 88, Lawrence, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.Mr. Tuckel died Sunday, Dec. 25, 2005, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.He was born Nov. 8, 1917, in Douglas County, the son of Felix and Clara Unger Tuckel. He lived in Douglas County his entire life.He retired in 1987 as a systems operator at Kansas Power & Light in Lawrence, and was a farmer and stockman. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Lawrence.He married Dora Hunsinger on Sept. 14, 1937, in Falls City, Neb. She died Feb. 6, 2000.Survivors include two sons, Roger, Maple Hill, and Russell Jr., Lawrence; a sister, Leona Flory, Lawrence; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two stepgreat-grandchildren.The family will greet friends from 7 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the mortuary.The family suggests memorials to Trinity Lutheran Church, sent in care of the mortuary.Online condolences may be sent to <a href="mailto:info@warrenmcelwain.com">info@warrenmcelwain.com</a>, subject: Tuckel.
