Amon Monroe Jackson

Services for Amon Monroe Jackson, 88, Baldwin, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home in Baldwin. Burial will follow at 3 p.m. Wednesday in Central Union Cemetery in Stotts City, Mo.Mr. Jackson died Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2005, at Baldwin Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.He was born Aug. 17, 1917, in Purdy, Mo., the son of Curtis and Laura Terry Jackson. He attended school in the Stotts City area. He moved to Baldwin in 1956.Mr. Jackson worked in the peach orchards of California. He later drove for MFA Feed Supply. He also worked for Carnation Milk and Victory Cab Co. in Kansas City, Kan., as a mechanic. He worked for Farmland for 25 years and retired in 1979.He married Freddie Deane Scott on April 26, 1941, in Mount Vernon, Mo. She died April 1, 1998.A son, Thomas, also died earlier.Survivors include two sons, Curtis and Wayne, both of Baldwin; three daughters, Shirley Hall, Las Vegas, Kathy Brumley, Lawrence, and Terri Caruthers, Baldwin; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.The family suggests memorials to Hospice Care of Lenexa, sent in care of the funeral home, P.O.
